They believed that everything from nature was sacred. Therefore, food was seen as a gift from nature. Feasts, offerings, communal meals.. these were indispensable parts of their culture and rituals. One day, Hattusili, one of the most important kings of the Hittites, gave advice to his son, saying, \u201cNinda an ezzateni watar ma ekuteni\u201d \u2013 \u201cNow you wil eat the bread, and you will drink the water.\u201d This advice became an important part of Hittite rituals. Bread and water from nature are related to life; eat and drink them so that life may bless you\u2026<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This story greatly inspired us when designing our dining table. The name \u201cTabarna\u201d comes from the nick-name that the Hittite King Hattusili, who valued food and its sanctity, gave himself.
