Taru

Rooted in Hittite symbols and crafted as modern talisman, the Taru side table is made to bless your home with abundance, joy, and protection…

We designed the pouf and side table inspired by the hieroglyphs that fascinated us during excavations. The monumental form of both pieces is derived from the hieroglyphic symbol of Taru, the sky god responsible for the prosperity of the Hittite people.

The engravings on silver-platted brass inside the legs feature symbols from Hittite hieroglyphs, representing our good wishes for the owner. The pouf’s cushion, made of Antakya silk weaving, and the tabletop’s silver-plated brass engravings showcase geometric patterns found on Hittite sacred vases and altars. Additionaly, we wanted to incorporate the iconic imagery of the Hittite Sun Disc, crafted by silver-plated brass details.

These two pieces stand as a monument, surrounded by sacred symbols of the Hittite Empire—acting as a talisman. May our designs bring abundance and joy to your home, keeping al evil away.

As the Anatolian saying goes:

“May no harm come to your home’s prosperity.”
