Arinna
Inspired by Arinna, the sun goddess of the Hittites, this lighting design radiates her spirit—spreading light in all directions as a sculptural tribute to the source of life…
Arinna, as the chief goddess of the Hittite pantheon, symbolizes the sun and light. The Hittites revered Arinna as a figure representing both the rising sun and the source of light and life.
Inspired by the goddess Arinna, we aimed to create a radiant effect around the light source by incorporating details that represent the sun’s rays. Since Arinna represents the sun, we chose circular and round forms for the lighting designs, using these forms verticaly to symbolize the completeness and continuity of the sun, ensuring that the light spreads in al directions.
With the lighting products we designed, we sought to shape the figure of Arinna, one of the most important goddesses of the Hittite civilization, as a sculpture integrated with light and the sun.
